Dallas 911 Not Responding

Dallas 911 Not Responding

The City of Dallas has multiple questions to answer about the Dallas 911 not responding after a deaf woman, Zarea Dixon, was found dead in her home when police officers took over an hour to respond to her call for help.

In a separate incident it took more than six minutes to respond to an apartment fire in North Dallas.

Dixon called 911 to report her boyfriend had broken into her apartment along South Polk Street and attacked her with a knife.

An interpreter with Sorensen Translation Services relayed that Dixon had been attacked stating her “ex-boyfriend broke into her house, beat her up and tried to stab her with a knife.”

Dixon provided the suspect’s name, description and date of birth to the police through the translator. She also said he had left her home.

Dixon “declined an ambulance but stated she ‘needed the police,'” according to the affidavit.

In addition to the non response to this woman, Dallas Police has not responded to multiple other incidents.

Additionally, Dallas police never took a report on three students burned by fireworks launched at them in North Dallas.

Dallas 911 Not Responding To Fires Either

At another event, sixty to seventy firefighters responded and saw flames coming from the second floor of the three-story apartment building upon arrival last week.

The fire quickly spread to the third floor and then into the attic space and roof of the building requiring the additional alarms by Dallas Fire Rescue.

Dallas Fire Station 29 is approximately one mile away or roughly three minutes.

Dallas 911 Not Responding

In comments to the media, Dallas Fire Fighters Association President Jim McDade said, “When the first companies got there — there was an enormous amount of fire, probably due to a delay in response,” McDade said.

There were no deaths or injuries, but more than twenty apartments were destroyed and more than one hundred residents displaced.

Slow responses can endanger firefighters. In New York, a firefighter with Brooklyn’s Ladder 170 lost his life last weekend.

Threat To First Family: US Secret Service Exposed

Threat To First Family

Two men were arrested in Washington, DC for posing as federal agents. The situation may have been a direct threat to First Family.

On Wednesday, April 6, 2022, federal prosecutors charged Haider Ali and Arian Taherzadeh saying they posed as federal agents. It appears they broke U.S. Secret Service security protocols providing agents with apartments, iPhones, drones, and a gun case.

Potential Threat To First Family Member Jill Biden

One agent is reported to have worked on the protective detail of First Lady Jill Biden.

Threat To First Family

In court documents, prosecutors allege Ali, 36, and Taherzadeh, 40, had falsely claimed to work for the Department of Homeland Security. They claimed to be working on a special task force investigating gang and violence connected to the January 6th insurrection at the United States Capitol. They allege the two posed as law enforcement officers to integrate with actual federal agents.

Federal prosecutors said four Secret Service employees were placed on leave earlier this week as part of the investigation.

This news comes as Members of Congress continue their investigation into the attack on the US Capitol which included participation by former FDNY firefighter Thomas Fee.

It is unclear how far this investigation will stretch, but it brings up other internal planned and attempted attacks against the United States by those sworn to protect it. Last year, an active duty soldier was arrested plotting to bomb the 9-11 memorial.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia said, “The Violent Crime Evidence-Based Reduction Plan is the result of work closely with criminologists, hearing from other departments within the City, and, most importantly, listening to our neighborhoods most impacted by violent crime. Our ultimate goal is the reduction of crime, with an increase in community trust. We will strive for both, as these concepts are not mutually exclusive. We will see further challenges in 2022 and our priority now is for our men and women to continue to partner with our community and strive to achieve an even safer Dallas.”

The award also comes just weeks after Dallas Police chose not to charge a Dallas paramedic who was seen on video kicking a subject repeatedly.

Disney Villain Friedlander

Should we call the Whitesboro, New York mayor Disney Villain Friedlander?

In the past few weeks we have learned about Robert Friedlander supporting the taxpayer funded give away of fire protection assets including apparatus, equipment, buildings, and land – moves experts say will cost the Village of Whitesboro in the long run, but now citizens have come forward about his lack of leadership on police matters and that he broadcast Disney movies in  city parks without authorization and that he did so to fundraise for his reelection campaign.

We have reached out to the Walt Disney Company legal departmentfor comment about their copyright policy. They have yet to respond, but we will publish once they do.

Disney Villain Friedlander

Friedlander Tenure

Friedlander’s tenure is coming under increasing fire given his inability to get FEMA support for residents impacted by local funding and his taxpayer funded give aways of fire protection assets.

Now with the mayor’s fundraising off the back of children to pay for his political ambitions and give aways there are questions about if his leadership and management style are appropriate for the small village near Utica, New York.

Robert Friedlander Incompetent Or Asleep?

Is Mayor Robert Friedlander incompetent or asleep at wheel? Earlier this week we were notified about the Village of Whitesboro giving away fire apparatus and equipment, land, and buildings in a move which may cost taxpayers.

After that story was published we were contacted by two women in the Village of Whitesboro who stated Friedlander’s actions on the fire service were just the beginning. They noted that he has mismanaged the village including not only fire issues, but police protection.

Mayor Robert Friedlander Incompetent?

In December 2021, a Whitesboro police officer was for allegedly surveilling and pulling over a woman without cause.

Robert Friedlander Incompetent

Officer Thomas Scarafile, 25, was charged with official misconduct, a misdemeanor, and second-degree harassment, a violation, Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara said Wednesday. He was indicted by an Oneida County grand jury and arraigned in county court in December 2021.

Reports allege that while on duty, Scarafile surveilled a waitress in Whitesboro after the two stopped dating.

“He basically started to watch her work,” he said.

Scarafile then pulled her over in the early morning hours of Jan. 18, 2021, on Westmoreland Road in Whitesboro, after which he called in the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office due to the conflict of interest.

“He acted like he didn’t know who he was pulling over,” McNamara said, adding that didn’t match evidence showing he was aware of who was in the car.

The woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated, but the charges were dismissed due to the arrest being without probable cause, McNamara said. He said his office began investigating the incident shortly after the arrest, after receiving anonymous emails about a Whitesboro police officer.

“We don’t believe there was any unauthorized surveillance, whatever that means,” Scarafile’s attorney Kurt Hameline said Wednesday. “He made a legitimate traffic stop.”

Whitesboro Mayor Robert Friedlander provided Scarafile, a full-time officer with the village, with paid leave.

The women who contacted us say this mayor does not pay attention to details and makes poor hiring decisions.

One said, “we should be questioning his judgement when he hires police officers more interested in their personal love life than public safety.”

The woman who’d been pulled over filed a notice of claim against the village and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, potentially costing the taxpayers of Whitesboro more for the “mayor’s lack of  basic human resources skills.”

The Whitesboro residents asked not to be identified for their comments for fear of retaliation by Mayor Friedlander.

New Year 2021 – At War with Vices

New Year 2021

As new year 2021 begins, I think now is the perfect time to reflect on where we have been this past year and where we are going. We saw the return of terrorism at a level we have not seen since September 11.

We saw a domestic terror incident in one of our greatest downtowns in America. The question is: are we ready?

New Year 2021

When celebrating New Year’s, we often make resolutions to lose weight, give up cigars or do better about some weakness. For me, I think the public safety industry’s biggest vice might be training. I am lucky to speak across the country and meet a variety of public safety professionals. Often I see us going through the motions with our training. When I see organizations that are uncommitted to training, I will usually inquire and hear that “we do this every day.” Generally, I do not believe that to be the case, but I do believe that you may be asked to respond to a unique situation. Without preparation, you will find yourself ill equipped to slay the dragon we face.

In the latter’s case I pray we do not play like we practice. It will lead to innocent people being unnecessarily hurt or killed just as quickly as not practicing at all. While walk-throughs have their place, are you really practicing enough on vehicle placement, hose deployment, SCBA failures and cardiac arrest management? These are some of the scenarios where we find ourselves in trouble on the fire ground and in emergency medicine.

New Year 2021 – New Training

Training is tough. It requires us to move away from every day issues like checking apparatus, handling public relations requests and responding to calls. It forces us to recognize that this industry changes almost daily. We have to keep up with those changes or find ourselves unable to answer the call.

Training has to be a resolution we plan to keep in 2021. It makes all the difference in every day performance.

Let me use my son as an example. He pitches with both arms like the major league baseball pitcher Pat Venditte. People are always amazed that he can throw strikes at a league par velocity with both arms. Other teams’ coaches will come up to me and remark on his talent. They don’t realize that his talent is not accidental. It is from training his body to throw with proper mechanics from both sides. His journey to throwing from both sides was not a eureka moment where the clouds parted and a voice arose which said, “Dodge, you will throw with both arms!” He just had a coach who would not allow him to play the infield as a left-hander other than first base. He wanted to play shortstop and thus began a journey where he taught himself to throw right-handed.

He has to do double the training to keep up now. The point is that it wasn’t a miracle. It was about training.

I challenge each of you to use the same mindset to become the responder you want to be and live up to the traditions set by one of America’s first firefighters, Ben Franklin, this New Year 2021.

If you are a firefighter, are you practicing for an SCBA failure? The life you save may be your own. If you are a medic, are you working with the EMTs in your system to practice pit crew CPR to provide the best chance of survival for your patient? If you are an officer, are you keeping up with building trends so that you can ensure your crew’s safety on firegrounds? Are you a stern father figure who requires your crew to be seat belted while making runs? Do you require each of your crewmembers to have their reflective vests on every call on a roadway?

These are the areas where our careless and inconsistent attitude toward training leads us down a dangerous path.

Let’s make New Year 2021 a year where we follow America’s first firefighter Ben Franklin and be at war with our own vices as they relate to training.
