Training

Training Session

Training for First Responders is a hallmark of our non-profit.

The September 11 Foundation works in multiple ways to enhance the quality of responder knowledge. One of those is continuing education for emergency medical services (EMS) to improve patient care for our communities and neighbors.

Training Takes Place In The Field, Classroom, and Hospital.

We believe well trained providers make safer towns. Our organization has education courses that provide high-quality, reasonably priced opportunities for emergency personnel as well as local business and industry.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) courses are taught by paramedics and emergency medical technicians who work in the emergency medicine field. Their hands-on experience makes The September 11 Foundation education practical, credible and informative.

Training Options

We have multiple instructors on staff who can provide quality disaster, emergency medical, and fire education in a number of areas. Our areas of focus include:

  • The September 11 Foundation operates our own American Heart Association Training Site courses including CPR for Healthcare Providers, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
    • Our American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced, instructor-led classroom course highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. The ACLS course also covers airway management and related pharmacology.  In the ACLS Course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented. Successful course completion includes demonstrating skills competency in all learning stations and passing the CPR and AED skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, a Megacode test and a written test.
    • The American Heart Association’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.  This classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The PALS course also covers airway management and related pharmacology.  In the PALS Course, skills are taught in large, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.
  • Community emergency response programs such as CERT, first aid, and lay person CPR.
    • These programs are ideal for community and corporate groups looking to be better prepared for disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and tornados.
  • Conference presentations in a number of areas.
    • Those areas include airway management, public safety education, fire based topics, operations, pediatrics, and full day programs.

These programs help The September 11 Foundation to cover program based expenses and support our charitable missions. We work to provide quality education at low costs. We look forward to working with your group and hope you will reach out to us if you want to both educate your team and support a great non-profit.
